Kirk Lippold, former Captain of USS Cole, visited Colloquium to tell about the terrorist attack on the ship in October of 2000 in the port of Aden, Yemen, and how he and crew saved the ship. Using this incident, he discussed broader security concerns in the Middle East and the persistence of terror groups such as Al Qaeda.
