Our 7th grade girls have discovered ancient history this semester in a variety of ways. They have created their own cuneiform clay tablets similar to those used by the ancient Sumarians, studied Phoenician ship building and constructed a model of the Tower of Babel.
Members of the 11th grade are rehearsing “The Misanthrope” by Moliere. Come out and see it this Friday and Saturday evening, December 15 and 16, at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the play begins at 7:30.
This week on campus was Winter Wonder Week — a series of class contests in preparation for Christmas. We’ve had class competitions for the best Christms limerick and best-sung Christmas carol. Today was Christmas tree decorating and tomorrow will be cookie tasting!
As part of their unit study on astronomy, the 7th grade boys learned about rockets. They each built and launched their own bottle rocket and recorded how far it travelled.
