Your child’s study of languages at Trinity School will produce a disciplined and well-trained mind. At Trinity School, this is accomplished through the study of formal English grammar, four years of Latin and two years of a third language.

Students begin with a comprehensive study of English grammar and an introduction to Latin in grades seven and eight, laying a foundation not only for these languages but also for all future language learning. In grades nine and ten, they continue the study of the Latin language, culminating in a reading of Virgil’s Aeneid in the original language.

In eleventh and twelfth grade, your child will choose between Spanish and Italian as a third language. Our aim is that by the time students graduate they would be able to read a literary work in its original language.
