Alumni Highlight — From time to time we'll bring you stories of some of our amazing alumni. Today we're focusing on Stephen Quinn, a 2008 graduate of Trinity School at Meadow View.

After leaving Trinity, Stephen earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Mississippi’s School of Journalism and News Media. As a college student he earned the National Award for Television Breaking News Reporting by the Society of Professional Journalists for his coverage of Hurricane Isaac on the Mississippi Coast. Stephen’s reporting was also recognized by the Mississippi Associated Press and the Southeastern Journalism Conference.

After graduating from college, he was immediately hired as a reporter at the NBC affiliate in Mobile, Alabama. Stephen has spent the last three and a half years at the ABC station in Birmingham, Alabama (ABC 33/40) where he has been called on to cover natural disasters, national politics and countless breaking news stories. He was recently promoted to co-anchor the station’s Sunday newscasts.

Stephen credits his education at Trinity for helping him advance his career. “Our Humane Letter’s classes pushed us to think critically, analyze what we see or read, and then communicate what we had learned. This is at the core of what a broadcast journalist must do each and every day.”
