Faculty remain united despite the distance

April 28, 2020

Our faculty remains united despite the distance between them. The whole faculty meets twice and sometimes three times each week, doing all they can to keep up Trinity’s high standards of education, and, of course, praying together. Here’s a snapshot from Monday morning’s faculty meeting.

Our 8th grade science curriculum includes the study of rocks. This is perfect for our students' work at home. Last week, the 8th grade girls presented their rock observations during a video classroom call. They described what kind of rocks they had found by color, streak test, grain patterns, fracturing, acid test (using lemon juice), […]

Peonies

April 6, 2020

Last week, Trinity Schools, Inc., began publishing music, art, and science enrichment activities for our students and faculty. The activities aren't graded, but fill some of the gaps in our school culture that have occurred because we are apart. One example from last week: "Peonies," a drawing by Alphonse Mucha. Students were asked to spend […]

What does your distance learning desk look like?

April 3, 2020

What does your distance learning desk look like? The Whelpley family hatches chicks every year and takes them to a friend’s farm in Purcellville. Usually the kids are at school, but this year they’re enjoying the little hatchlings as they study from home.

Sequentia: Stabat Mater

April 2, 2020

Earlier this week, the middle school Latin students had the chance to hear the beauty of the language they’re learning as they listened to the Gregorian chant “Stabat Mater,” a traditional Lenten hymn. One student’s comment: “I bet if I listened to it right before bed I would have a wonderful dream.” Listen to the […]
