Congratulations to Tempest Varsity Girls who achieved third place in the Virginia Independent Athletic Association's State Track and Field Championship in Richmond, Saturday, May 21. Sophomore Lianna Smith came in first in the 100 and 200 meter events. Junior, Isabelle Oliver, placed first in the triple jump, second in both the long jump and 800 meter event, fourth in the shot put and sixth in the 3200 meter. She received one of the meet's MVP awards. Maddy Oliver, her sister, and TSMV 8th grader, finished fourth in the 400 and junior Caroline Bryant finished fifth in the 800 meter. More than 40 Division I and Division II schools participated in the meet. Great job girls!
